Rules for Performers at "Chai and Samosa" Open Mic

1. Stick to Your Slot Time: Performers must adhere to their allotted performance time. Overrunning your time disrupts the flow of the event and affects other participants.
2. Stay and Support Others: Performers are encouraged to remain present after their own set to show respect and support for fellow talents. This helps foster a positive and supportive community.
3. Commitment Fee: To maintain the integrity of the platform, performers must pay a nominal $5 “commitment to show” fee once contacted and confirmed for the event. This fee ensures that only serious participants take the stage.
4. Content Guidelines: All performances must be appropriate for a general audience. Offensive language, hate speech, or inappropriate content will not be tolerated.
5. Check-In on Arrival: Performers must check in with the event organizer or host upon arrival to confirm their slot and avoid any confusion.
6. Be Prepared: Performers are responsible for bringing their own instrument, musicians, or props.
7. Cancellation Notice: If unable to attend, performers should notify the organizers at least 48 hours in advance to allow adjustments to the schedule. No you will not be returned the commitment fee, it was taken exactly you cancelled.
8. No Last-Minute Changes: Once a slot is confirmed, it cannot be changed. Performers should come ready to perform as planned.
9. Professionalism on Stage: Treat the stage, equipment, and audience with respect. Refrain from any behavior that could disrupt the event.
10. Networking Etiquette: Use the event as an opportunity to connect and collaborate with others, but avoid excessive self-promotion during your performance.
11. Respect the Venue: Follow all venue-specific rules, including any restrictions related to food, drinks, or smoking.
12. Event Recording Policy: The event may be recorded for promotional purposes. By performing, you consent to being included in any event media.
13. Be Punctual: Arrive at least 15-30 minutes before your scheduled slot to ensure a smooth check-in process.
14. You will be recorded when performing! The whole pojnt of the open-mic is to get your content refined, polished and create more for sharing on social media.
